Setting the backlight timer

The display screen on the IP Phone has backlighting. The display can
remain lit for a period of time when your phone is inactive. The default
setting is one hour.
You can use the following procedure to adjust the length of time that the
display screen remains lit when your phone is inactive.

Press the Services key twice to access the Local tools menu.
Select the next step as follows.
If
your phone displays the Local
tools menu
your phone prompts you to enter
a password
Your phone prompts you for a password because your system
administrator has chosen to establish a password for the Local
tools menu. If you know the password, enter it. If you do not
know the password, you must contact your system administrator
to obtain the password before you can proceed.
Press the 1 key on the dialpad to select the Preferences menu.
Press the 3 key on the dialpad to select the Backlight Timer tool.
Press the up and down arrow keys to scroll through a list of timer
values.
When the timer value of your preference is displayed, press
the Send key to select that timer value. Alternatively, you can
press the context-sensitive Cancel soft key to exit from the menu
without altering the timer value.
ATTENTION
Potential reduction in the life span of the display screen
If you choose a high timer value, or if you select "Never", that will
reduce the life span of the display screen.
