Entering the PIN code

The PIN (Personal Identification Number) code protects your SIM card against unauthorised use. It is
usually supplied with the SIM card. If the SIM card requires a PIN code, you must enter this code to be
able to use the Nokia 30 terminal.
When the AutoPIN feature is switched on e.g. with the Nokia 30 Configurator software, the PIN code is
saved in the terminal's memory and there is no need to type in the PIN code separately.
In a MS Windows environment, several applications can be used to establish the connection. One such
applications is HyperTerminal®. You can enter the PIN code with HyperTerminal as follows (in Windows
2000):
1. Start the HyperTerminal program (Start ->Programs ->Accessories ->Communications ->
HyperTerminal, then double-click the HyperTrm.exe icon).
2. In the Connection Description dialog box, type a
name for the connection in the Name box (for
example GSM1) and click OK.
