② Set the throttle grip to "START" po-
sition.

③ Pull the choke knob fully.
Note
Choke is not necessary when the
engine is warm. Set the throttle grip to
"RE-START" position.
Note
If engine does not start with 4 or 5
times starting operation, push the
knob back and restart.
R type
④ Pull the starter handle slowly until

you feel engagement, keep pulling
till you feel less resistance. Then
pull it quickly.
Repeat if necessary until started.
⑤ When starting the engine, push the
choke knob back.
Slowly
TE and TP type
④ Push the starter switch button.
⑤ Release the button when the en-
gine has started.
⑥ When starting the engine, push the
choke knob back.
