4.7.1 THREE WHEEL
When towing models WX950, WX960 and
WX970 splitters, ensure you tow in the ele-
vated position to avoid damage to the support
wheel and tow vehicle� Follow these steps :
1� Be sure all bystanders are clear of the
machine�
2� Locate the lock link just behind the sup-
port wheel pivot as shown in Fig�A
3� remove the latchpin from the toplink pin
and remove it from the lock link� The lock
link will come free�
4� Position the lock link into the lower lock-
ing tab on the wheel pivot, slide in the
toplink pin, and insert the latchpin, as
shown in Fig�B
5� The support wheel/hitch ass'y is now locked�
Locate the swivel jack stored on the axle/tank
ass'y� remove the latch pin and move the
swivel jack to the support wheel jack socket on
the support wheel, insert the latchpin� See Fig
3
6� When the swivel jack is secure, turn the jack
handle clockwise to elevate the splitter hitch to
match the tow vehicle hitch height�
7� Carefully back the tow vehicle up to the hitch,
lower the splitter hitch and secure and latch the
hitch to the tow vehicle�
8� Cross and attach the tow chains to the tow
vehicle, remove the swivel jack, and replace it
in its storage area on the axle�
