5.2.3 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OIL FILTER

review the Operator's Manual for the splitter�
2�
Place all controls in neutral, stop and disable
engine before maintaining�
3�
Allow the machine to cool before changing
the filter� Hot oil can cause burns if it con-
tacts exposed skin�

Place a pan under the filter head�
5�
remove the oil filter, grasp the filter firmly
and turn counter-clockwise� An oil filter
wrench may be used if required�
6�
Find and inspect the "O" ring, replace if dam-
aged or worn� Apply a light coat of oil to the
"O" ring�
7�
Install the replacement filter, turn clockwise�
Snug up by hand and then tighten 1/2 turn�
8�
run the machine for 1-2 minutes while op-
erating cylinder and check filter head for oil
leaks�
9�
If leaks are found around the filter, tighten
slightly� If leaks persist repeat steps 6-9�
10� Check hydraulic reservoir oil level� Top up as
required�
11� Place the spilled oil in an approved container
and dispose of in a environmentally safe
manner�
