2. Serial No./Model name writing procedures
2-1. Outline description
This is a program intended to write the contents of the "MODEL NUMBER" and the "SERIAL NUMBER"
indicated in the OSM menu [Menu (U), Tag 7], "MONITOR INFO".
2-2. Jigs and tools required
AUTO ADJ I/F JIG (PART No. : 599910401(120V) / 599910402(240V))
Serial No./Model name writing program (PART No. 599910512)
In this case, however, the program of serial No./ model name writing program is used in place of the
automatic adjustment program.
2-3. Connection method
The connection method is the same as the one specified in the connection diagram for the automatic
adjustment of size, position, and distortion.

2-4. Writing order
(1) Turn on all equipment units other than the PC.
(2) Enter a signal input in the monitor.
(3) Confirm that there is a display of "Please change the monitor into factory mode state." in the monitor
screen. When this display is seen, set the monitor at the factory mode.
(4) Turn on the power supply for the personal computer and start this computer with the floppy disk for serial
No./ model name writing.
(5) When you see a display of "Please input id product code," enter 2 characters of EDID data address
0A(H) and 2 more characters of address 0B(H), an input of 4 characters in all.
At that time, you should enter the 2 characters of address 0B(H) at first, then the EDID data address 0A(H).
Example) When the EDID data are as follows:
Address 0A(H) : A8(H) data
Address 0B(H) : 61(H) data
For the command line of the writing software, enter "61A8" and press the ENTER key.
(6) Since the confirmation message is displayed, press the "Y" key if this message is found correct.
Note) At that time, characters of "UMA" and the like may be displayed as "XXX." Even in such a If
"-0" is displayed at the end, nothing is displayed on actual OSM screen.
(7) Processing for model name writing is executed.
If any message other than "Factory Communication OK" is displayed, the above steps should be
repeated from the beginning again.
(8) When you see a display of "Please input serial no." enter the nine digits of the serial number and press
the ENTER key.
(9) Since the confirmation message is displayed, press the "Y" key if this message is found correct.
(10) Processing for serial number writing is executed.
(11) If any message other than "Factory Communication OK" is displayed, the above steps should be
repeated from the beginning again.
(12) At this step, the writing work has been finished. Confirm that the "MODEL NUMBER" and the "SERIAL
NUMBER" are correctly displayed on the OSM screen.
