N
OR BALANCING HORIZONTALLY PIVOTED DOOR WITH SPRINGS
G
(with optional movement group code ACG8203)
L
I
1 - Remove the operator from the box and lean it on the floor.(Fig.1).
ATTENTION: NEVER CUT THE CHAIN NOR THE CHAIN GUIDE. DO NOT MODIFY THEM FOR
S
ANY REASON. SHOULD THE GUIDE BE LONGER THAN NEEDED, FIX THE
H
STOPPER AT A SUITABLE DISTANCE.
2 - Take the central guide (it has a hole in the middle on both sides).
3 - Put the two threaded plates into the grooves next to the holes.
4 - Take two fastening ceiling brackets and screw them to the guide with screws and washers as
indicated in fig 2-3-4-5
5 - Insert a guide connecting profile, letting it stick out of about 10cm from the head guide (Fig.6).
6 - Fix it with one of the 4,2x13 self-threading screws provided (Fig.7).
7 - Insert the chain into the central guide being careful the channel you choose for the insertion
(Fig. 8-9)
ATTENTION : DO NOT GREASE THE CHAIN!
8 - Tighten the central guide on the profile with a 4,2x13 screw as shown in fig. 10 e 11.
ATTENTION : FASTEN THE TWO SCREWS ON THE SAME SIDE!
9 - Tighten the other two screws on the opposite side verifying that the two profiles are not
separate one from the other (Fig.12-13).
10 - Insert the second connecting profile and proceed as indicated from point 5 to point 11(Fig. 14-
15-16-17-18-19-20-21).
11 - Take the front attachment and use it to determine the distances between centres of the wall
fastening drillings (22-23-24).
ATTENTION : 5cm is the minimum distance to keep between the COMET S guide and the open
door in the point of its minimum distance from the ceiling.
13 - After having effected the holes in the wall, screw the front attachment of the tail guide using
the two threaded plates and the screws with the washers (Fig.25-26-27-28-29-30).
14 - Lean the front attachment of the wall next to the fastening holes.
ATTENTION : Place a cloth between floor and operator carter to avoid to ruin the latter (Fig.31-
32).
15 - Once you have fastened the front attachment with the provided screws, take a ladder and lean
on it the head of the operator (Fig.33).
16 - Fasten the operator on the ceiling using the brackets and the expansion bolts provided.
17 - Verify with a level that the guide is perfectly horizontal (Fig.34).
18 - Fasten the attachment in the middle of the sectional door (Fig.35-36).
19 - Connect the attachment with the operator's trolley with the screws, washers and the self-
locking screw nuts provided (Fig.37).
20 - Tie the wire and the release doorknob to the release lever of the trolley (adjust the length of
the wire so that the doorknob does not touch a possible vehicle parked under it.
EMERGENCY RELEASE
21 - To avoid damaging of the operator, release the chain trolley by pulling the string
downward (DO NOT PULL THE STRING OBLIQUELY) (Picture 38).
In order to fit an external emergency release without pulling the string obliquely, use the proper
"Comet Release" facility code ACZ9011, provided with cable to be fixed to the door key-lock .
To safely carry out the manual movement of the wing you need verify that:
- The door is equipped with suitable handles;
- Such handles do not create dangerous points during their utilization;
- The manual effort to move the door must not exceed 225N for the doors placed on private sites
and 390N for the doors placed on commercial and industrial ones (values indicated in point 5.3.5
of EN 12453 standard).
ATTENTION : The activation of the release can cause an incontrollable movement of the door in
case the latter is not correctly balanced.
22 - ONLY WHEN THE TRAY IS RELEASED PULL TRASVERSALLY THE ROPE to open the
door (Fig. 39) and verify that it never touches the guide for the whole movement.
ADJUSTMENT MECHANIC CLAMP
23 - When the tray is released open the door.
24 - Loosen the screws of the mechanic clamp and let it slide along the guide until it hits the trolley
(Fig. 52).
25 - Once you have positioned it, tighten the screws to secure the position.
ATTENTION: EACH TIME THE MECHANICAL STOPPER IS ADJUSTED (MOVED) IT IS
NECESSARY TO PROGRAMME AGAIN THE TRAVEL OF THE TROLLEY.
Programming can be done every time is required.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
26 - Remove the carter by unscrewing the threaded screw and operate on the lateral couplers
(Fig.40).
27 - Carry out the electric connections and screw the electric bulb provided (only 230V 50/60Hz
types)
28 - Carry out the setting and the programming of the gearcase following the specific procedures
illustrated in the following pages.
29 - Reassembly the carter on the operator (Fig. 42-43-44-45).
