Device Log
The table in this section is a device log. Use it to record
information about the system and the optional devices that you
have added or removed. You may need this information when
using the Setup utility.
Keep the model numbers and serial numbers of the server and
system board recorded in the log. The model number and serial
number of the server are on the label attached to the back of the
server. The serial number of the system board is at the left end of
the board close to the expansion card panel.
Record the model numbers and serial numbers of the system
components, the dates when you replaced components, and the
names of component manufacturers. Also, record hard disk drives,
expansion cards, additional option cards, and all other components
that you have added to the system.
The positions of model numbers and serial numbers of system
components vary depending on the make. Refer to the
manufacturers' documentation for the exact positions of these
numbers.
