Setting Audio Output Preferences

The wireless button is inactive during QuickPlay. The QuickPlay
feature can only be used with the internal speakers or devices
connected to the headphone jack. Audio devices/accessories, such
as Bluetooth headphones that require the operating system, will
not work in QuickPlay.
The notebook is set by default to transmit analog audio signals
through the 2 audio-out (headphone) jacks, illustrated below.
Devices that connect to an audio-out jack include headphones and
speakers.
For more information about using the audio-out jacks, see the
"Using the Audio-Out (Headphone) Jacks"
section in
Chapter 5,
"Multimedia."
The notebook can also transmit S/PDIF digital audio signals
through the audio-out jacks. To transmit S/PDIF signals to
an external device, the system must include an optional HP
expansion product, such as an Expansion Base or an
HP xc2000 Notebook All-in-One Media Cable.
