5.1 Channel Setup for MCP South bridge chipset
This section describes the installation procedures for 5.1 Channel Setup. Note that if your operating
system is Windows 98/ ME/ 2000, go directly to step 3.
1. Beginning with the "Start" button, select Setting Control Panel Sounds, Speech, and
Audio Devices Sounds and Audio Devices. The screen below will display. First check the "Place
volume icon in the taskbar" in the Device volume block. Then press the "Advanced..." button to
configure the speaker settings.
2. At the "Advanced Audio Properties" screen use the drop-down box to select the "5.1 surround
sound speakers". Click "Apply" to enable the 5.1 channel audio effect.
3. On your desktop, double click the volume icon that is on the desk bar.
(Note: As described earlier, begin with this step if your system is Windows 98/ ME/ 2000)
