Cleaning the air filter and air filter housing

Warning
Environmental hazard Hazardous substances cause environmental damage.
Oil, grease, filters, fuel, cleaners, brake fluid, etc., should be disposed of as stipulated in applicable regulations.

Do not clean the air filter with fuel or petroleum since these substances attack the foam.

Removing the main silencer

Warning
Danger of burns The exhaust system gets very hot when the vehicle is driven.
Allow the exhaust system to cool down. Do not touch hot components.
Insert both parts together and close air filter housing

If the air filter is not mounted correctly, dust and dirt may enter the engine
and cause damage.

Finishing work
Install the air filter housing.
Lock the seat. (
Preparatory work
Fold the seat up. (
Remove the air filter housing.
Remove the air filter.
Main work
Wash the air filter thoroughly in special cleaning liquid and allow it to dry properly.
Air filter cleaner (
Info
Only press the air filter to dry it, never wring it out.
Oil the dry air filter with a high quality filter oil.
Oil for foam air filter (

Clean the air filter housing.
Check the intake flange for damage and ensure it is firmly seated.
Finishing work
Install the air filter.
Install the air filter housing.
Lock the seat. (
Remove screws
Pull off the main silencer from the manifold at rubber sleeve
