Document Requirements

The documents you load into the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) for sending and
copying must meet the requirements shown in the table below.
Depending on your document, select automatic or manual document feed with the
document feed lever located at the top of the operation panel.

Problem Documents
• To prevent document jams in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), do not use any
of the following:
– Wrinkled or creased paper
– Curled or rolled paper
– Torn paper
• Remove all staples, paper clips, or any other fasteners before loading the document
into the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
• Make sure any glue, ink, or correction fluid on the paper is completely dry before
loading the document into the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder).
• If you have a document that will not feed properly into the ADF (Automatic Document
Feeder), make a photocopy of the document and load the copy instead.
