4.4 Other Preset Capabilities

In addition to MIDI Program Change Commands described above, presets also have the capability to send a
number of additional MIDI commands:
 Presets store a snapshot of IA Switch ON/OFF states, which causes a burst of MIDI commands when the
preset is loaded. (Axe-Fx IA Switches are handled differently.) See Chapter 5.
 Presets store a snapshot of Internal CC ("virtual switch") ON/OFF states which causes a burst of MIDI
commands when the preset is loaded. See Chapter 6.
 Presets can be set up with a 16 byte custom MIDI message. See section 12.1.5 on p. 38.
 Global External Switch settings can be overridden by any preset. See 12.1.6 on p. 39.
 Global Expression Pedal settings can be overridden by any preset. See section 12.1.8 on p. 40.
 Global Expression Pedal range can be overridden by any preset. See section 12.1.7 on p. 39.
 Each preset also has an internal name, shown if AXE-FX MODE is OFF. See section 12.1.1 on p. 36.

4.5 Global Preset

The MFC-101 offers an interesting way to expand the number of presets available at any moment. The Global
Preset, once enabled, can be selected just by stepping again on the footswitch of the preset that is already loaded.
This feature works in all modes.
Once the Global Preset is loaded, its MIDI data is transmitted, the footswitch LED changes to red, and the preset
number in the display changes to "GBL." To return to the previously loaded preset, simply press the same
footswitch again.
It is possible to jump directly from the Global Preset to a different preset in the same bank, or to a preset in a new
Bank or Song. To enable the Global Preset:
1. Press EDIT footswitch to enter EDIT MODE.
2. Press SETUP footswitch to select the SETUP menu.
3. Press PAGE footswitch 15x to get to the Global Preset screen:
4. Press the INCR or DECR footswitch to select the global preset by its number.
Remember that these are MFC-101 preset numbers and not Program Change commands! A value
of OFF disables the Global preset.
5. Press EXIT to return to PERFORMANCE MODE.
