CAUTION
• THE CYLINDER MUST BE THOROUGHLY CLEANED AFTER HONING TO ELIMINATE ALL GRIT.

IGNITION COIL AND FLYWHEEL

Ignition Coil and Flywheel Removal
1. Loosen three screws and remove the remaining four screws attaching the flywheel housing as shown,
then remove the housing (Figure 13-61, Page 13-31).
2. Disconnect the ignition coil (1) from its primary lead wire at the connector (2). Remove the two bolts (3)
and take out the ignition coil (Figure 13-62, Page 13-31).
3. Hold the flywheel (4), not the fan (7), with a strap wrench (5) and, using a 22 mm socket, remove the
flywheel nut (and flat washer) by turning it counterclockwise (Figure 13-63, Page 13-32).
CAUTION
• THE FLYWHEEL NUT HAS RIGHT-HAND THREADS. TURN IT CLOCKWISE TO TIGHTEN, OR
COUNTERCLOCKWISE TO LOOSEN.
• DO NOT DAMAGE THE FAN BLADES WITH THE STRAP WRENCH. DO NOT PLACE
SCREWDRIVER OR PRY BAR IN THE FAN BLADES.
4. Remove the flywheel with a puller (Club Car Part No. 1016627).
5. Remove the flywheel key from its groove.
