By blocking the two main injectors (or running a length of silicon tube between the two) the fire can be started to check
that the gas supply is working and that the pilot will light and rectify. It may take some time to start initially as the system
will need to purge through the pilot. Press and hold the ON/OFF button on the receiver unit or remote control for at least
one second to start the fire, after a couple more seconds the ignitor should start sparking and will operate for about 45
seconds or until the pilot lights and rectifies.
If the pilot lights but the ignitor continues to spark it could be a fault with the wiring. It is crucial that the earth and neutral
wires are correctly aligned - this is the most common cause of new installation faults of this sort. Be sure that the gas
supply is properly purged before investigating the electrical connection though.
