Receiving a fax

Receive Modes

By factory default, the factory setting of Receive Mode is "Fax". Your machine will automatically
receive any faxes that are sent to it. There are four receive modes of this machine as below. For
more detailed information on the receive modes, see Using Receive Modes on page 27.
Operation Display
Fax Auto
Fax/Tel
External TAD
Fax Manual
To set the Receive Mode follow the instructions:
a
Press
(FAX).

Press Menu, 3, 1, 1.

Press a or b to choose Fax Auto, Fax/Tel, External TAD or Fax Manual.
Press OK.

If you choose Fax Auto or Fax/Tel, press a or b to choose how many times you want the
machine to ring before it answers.
Press OK.
If you choose 00, the machine will answer immediately and the line will not ring at all.

Press Stop/Exit.
When you want to quickly set the Receive Mode to Fax Auto or Fax Manual, use the
Fax Auto/Manual key.

Press Fax Auto/Manual key.
b
Press Fax Auto/Manual key, a or b to choose Fax Auto or Fax Manual.
NOTE
The Receive mode is automatically set to the displayed mode that the LCD has displayed for
2 seconds.

Press OK.
