Vehicle Operation

Normal Turns

Steering effort is at its lowest in two-wheel drive (2WD). Higher effort is needed
when in four-wheel drive (4WD). The highest effort is needed when in four-
wheel drive and the differential lock control in the LOCK position. Never exceed
10 mph (16 kph) with the lock control in the LOCK position.
1. Release the accelerator when approaching a turn; then press the foot brake
pedal gradually to apply the brake.
2. Turn the steering wheel as necessary taking care not to "over-steer" or to
turn the steering wheel erratically.
3. Add power gradually as you come out of the turn.

Sharp Turns

1. Release the accelerator as you approach the turn to slow down.
2. As necessary, gradually press the foot brake pedal to apply the brake to slow
to a safe cornering speed.
NOTE: More steering effort will be necessary for a sharp turn than
for a normal turn.
3. If the vehicle starts to tip or if the wheels come off the ground, immediately
decrease the turn by straightening the steering wheel (steer out of the turn).
4. Gradually increase speed when coming out of the turn.
