Error messages transmitted or displayed

• At every detection of an error, the printer transmits an error code
on the selected standard

• In the immediate mode of UBI Fingerprint, the software can
detect and display three error conditions, provided the printhead
is lowered and a paper feed is executed:
- Error 1005 ("Out of paper")
- Error 1027 ("Out of transfer ribbon")
- Error 1031 ("Next label not found")
• In the UBI Direct Protocol (UBI Fingerprint 6.0 or later), two
additional error conditions can be detected:
- Error 1006 ("No field to print")
- Error 1022 ("Head lifted")

• To have other error message displayed requires some kind of an
error handling program, e.g.
print Programmer's Guide), or the error-handler of the UBI Direct
Protocol (See UBI Direct Protocol Programmer's Guide). Such
programs will usually also signal detected errors by lighting up
the red error LED lamp and possibly emit some kind of audible
signal.
• In case the CPU is unable to access data on a given address, the
internal program will light up the red error LED independently of
any error handling program.
• If more than one error occurs at a time, the first error will be
displayed until remedied. Next error will be signalled only
thereafter.
• Consult the UBI Fingerprint Reference Manual for the meaning
of the different error codes. Most errors are caused by program-
ming errors in custom-made programs. If this is the case, confer
with the creator of the program on what could be done to remedy
the malfunction.
