Troubleshooting

For your personal safety, do not attempt inspection or repairs not fully described in this
Rider's Manual. Contact an authorized VICTORY dealer for service if you cannot
determine the cause of a problem or if the inspection / repair exceeds your mechanical
ability or tool resources. Do not perform any inspection or repair with the engine running.
Engine Cranks But Will Not Start
Possible Cause
Low Fuel
Fuel pump inoperative
Battery Discharged
Spark Plug(s) Fouled
Spark Plug Wire(s) Disconnected or Loose

Possible Remedy/Action
Verify fuel level
Turn engine STOP switch to RUN. Turn key
ON. The fuel pump should run momentarily and
then stop. If you do not hear the fuel pump run,
check the fuel pump / ignition circuit breaker
(see page 186). Note: A momentary clicking
sound from the IAC valve is normal when key is
first turned to the OFF position.
Fully charge the battery (page 180).
Inspect spark plugs (page 177).
Be sure spark plug wires are securely fastened.
