9. SELECTING THE EXPOSURE MODE

There are two types of exposure, automatic exposure and manual exposure. In the automatic
exposure mode, the copier will automatically detect the density of the original and select the
optimum exposure. This mode is suitable for originals with letters and illustrations only. Originals
with black areas and half-toned originals should be copied in manual exposure. In the manual
exposure mode, you can make your copies lighter or darker.
Copying in Automatic Exposure
Make sure that the AUTO-EXPOSURE

lamp is lit.
G If it is not, press the AUTO-EXPOSURE
key to make its lamp light.
Set the original and press the PRINT

key.
G The machine will automatically detect the
density of the original and make copies in
the optimum exposure.
Copying in Manual Exposure

Press the LIGHT
to go into manual exposure.
G To lighten your copies, press the LIGHT
key. Each time you press it, the lit
lamp moves one step to the left making
your copies lighter.
G To darken your copies, press the DARK
key. Each time you press it, the lit
lamp moves one step to the right making
your copies darker.

Set the original and press the PRINT
key.
G Copies will be made in the selected
exposure.
G Pressing the AUTO-EXPOSURE
key will return the copier to auto exposure.
