4. Hold the tilt ram in a vise using aluminum
plates a on both sides.
5. Install the balls 0, absorber valve pins
A, springs B, and balls C as shown.
6. Install the washer D and bolt E to the tilt
piston 8, and then tighten the bolt to the
specified torque.

Tilt piston bolt E:
61 N·m (6.1 kgf·m, 45.0 ft·lb)
7. Install the PTT gear pump housing to the
tilt cylinder.
NOTE:
To install the PTT gear pump housing, see
"Assembling the gear pump" (7-44).
8. Fill the cylinder with the recommended
PTT fluid to about 60%.
Recommended PTT fluid:
ATF Dexron II
9. Install a new O-ring F to the free piston
G, and then install the piston into the cyl-
inder H.

10. Place the tilt cylinder end screw 5 at the
bottom of the tilt ram 9.
11. Install the tilt ram assembly into the cylin-
der.

12. Tighten the tilt cylinder end screw 5 to
the specified torque.
