Bluetooth® Audio Streaming
B
LUETOOTH
The Hopper is the first set-top box to offer Bluetooth Audio Streaming, the feature that lets
you listen to the audio of your program using your Bluetooth wireless headset or speakers.
(Note: Bluetooth audio devices, such as wireless headphones or speakers, are sold
separately.) Now you can listen to sound without disturbing anyone or walk around the
house and never miss a play during a game. You can even listen to all the music from
SiriusXM® Satellite Radio stations.
To use the Bluetooth Audio Streaming feature
In order to use this feature, have your audio device ready and follow these instructions:
1
Press the MENU button on the remote or front panel of the Hopper with Sling HD DVR.
2
Highlight and select the Settings tile. Then highlight and select Bluetooth.
Once Bluetooth is selected, it automatically starts to scan for available Bluetooth wireless
devices. Be sure your device is powered on (and made discoverable, if necessary) and is
within range of the Hopper with Sling HD DVR, so that the scan can find your device. The
range for Bluetooth communications typically is about 30 feet, although it can vary consid-
erably for some devices. Consult the user materials provided for your device for details.
3
Once the scan is complete, a list of devices that were found will appear. A device can be:
Paired – Connected: The Hopper with Sling is currently playing audio to this Bluetooth
device. Select this device in the list to see options to disconnect from it and/or unpair it
from the Hopper with Sling, if desired.
Paired – Not Connected: currently paired and enabled, this Bluetooth device is able to
stream audio when it is on. Turn on the device to use it for streaming audio, or select the
device to unpair it from the Hopper with Sling, if desired.
Unpaired: Bluetooth device has been detected, but is not paired to your Hopper with
Sling. Selecting this device initiates pairing (you must enter the device's four-digit
Bluetooth passcode, if or when prompted). When device pairing is complete, the device
status then will be Paired – Not Connected (see above).
To turn off the Bluetooth feature
To completely turn off the Bluetooth Audio Streaming feature of your Hopper with Sling HD
DVR, do the following:
1
Press the MENU button on your remote control or the Hopper with Sling front panel.
2
Highlight and select the Settings tile on the MAIN MENU, and then Bluetooth.
3
On the screen under the Bluetooth area, highlight and select the "off" option.
