Connecting the Hopper with Sling HD DVR
YPbPr Connections (Hopper only)
The YP
Sling HD DVR to your HDTV or HD monitor. If an HDMI audio/video connection between
your Hopper with Sling and its TV is unavailable, then you should use a component video
cable with separate audio cables.

Connect between the YP
DVR and its TV using component (usually red/green/blue color) video cables.

Connect audio (red and white) RCA-type cables between the A
input connections that go with the YPbPr connectors on your HDTV or monitor.

If you do not see a picture yet, change the resolution setting on the Hopper with Sling HD
DVR. Use the steps below and Setting Up to Display in HD on page 94.

Turn up the volume on your HDTV and confirm that you hear sound. Check the audio
cable connections if you don't hear sound.
No Picture on TV Connected to Hopper
This section will help you make a picture appear on the TV connected to the Hopper with
Sling HD DVR or Joey Receiver, just in case you could not do so in the previous sections.

Connect the three RCA-type cable connections (yellow for video and red/white for audio)
between the receiver outputs and the TV where your Hopper is located.

Make sure that both your DISH receiver and TV are turned on (not in standby or power-
saving mode).

Make sure the TV where your DISH receiver is located is set to view the RCA-type audio/
video inputs or source. Look on the back of your TV or consult your TV user's guide for
more information on selecting the right input/source.

Change the DISH receiver's HDTV settings, if needed, as described on page 94.

Switch the TV where the Hopper with Sling HD DVR is located to display from the HD
inputs (HDMI or component video) that you selected in the previous sections. If you have
a picture on this TV, then you are finished.

Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the TV displays a video image from your Hopper with Sling.
