The valves are arranged radially
to obtain a compact combus-
tion chamber with favorable flow
characteristics. To achieve an
optimum flow of fresh gas, the
inlet channels are remachined.
Four valves per cylinder are actu-
z
ated by two overhead camshafts
with diagonally ground cams
and short trailing valve levers.
To adjust the valve clearance,
the hemispherical balls can be
removed with the trailing valve
levers in one service-friendly op-
eration. The carbon cylinder-
head covers are equipped with
replaceable skid pads.
