[Bkgd. Removal] ([External Memory]) ([Save])

To display: [Box] - [System] - [External Memory] - [Save] - [Application] - [Quality/Density] - [Bkgd. Removal]
Adjust the density of original with the colored background (newspaper, recycle paper, etc.) or the background
of an original that is so thin that text or images on the back would be scanned.

To display: [Box] - [System] - [External Memory] - [Save] - [Application] - [App] - [Frame Erase]
Erases the four sides of the original in the same width. You can also erase the four sides of the original to
different widths.

Description
Press this button to scan a 2-sided original made of thin paper or an orig-
inal with the colored background, with the optimum image quality.
[Bleed Removal]: Select this option to prevent a back-side bleeding
when printing a 2-sided original that is so thin that the contents of the
back side would be scanned.
[Paper Discoloration Adjustment]: Select this option to scan an original
with the colored background such as a map.
Press this button to adjust the density of the background color for an orig-
inal with a colored background. If [Auto] is selected, the density of the
background color is determined automatically, and the original is scanned
with optimal background density.
Description
Select [ON] to specify Frame Erase.
