CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM

NOTE:
Drain and flush the fuel tank if abrasive dam-
age to any components of the fuel line is evi-
dent.
The arrow mark a on the fuel filter should face
to the side of the fuel pump 1 .
3. Install:
side cover
fuel tank
seat

1. Remove:
seat
fuel tank
2. Check:
crankcase breather hose 1
Cracks/damage Replace.
Loose connection
CAUTION:
Make sure that the crankcase breather hose
is routed correctly.
3. Install:
fuel tank
seat

CHECKING THE EXHAUST SYSTEM
The following procedure applies to all of the ex-
haust pipes and gaskets.
1. Check:
exhaust pipe 1
muffler 2
Cracks/damage Replace.
gasket 3
Exhaust gas leaks
2. Check:
tightening torque
Exhaust pipe nut 4
20 Nm (2.0 m kg, 14 ft lb)
Exhaust pipe and muffler bolt 5
20 Nm (2.0 m kg, 14 ft lb)
Exhaust pipe and bracket bolt 6
20 Nm (2.0 m kg, 14 ft lb)
Muffler and muffler bracket bolt 7
48 Nm (4.8 m kg, 35 ft lb)
CHK
ADJ
Connect properly.
Replace.
