1. Attach extension tube (to upper mount)

Pull the safety cable that is attached to the extension tube through the upper
mount, and then fasten the extension tube to the upper mount (already attached
to angle irons) using the Extension Tube Hardware as shown. Note: If the
extension tube is already attached, simply secure the bolts.
Before tightening the bolts, allow the extension tube to hang freely and balance
itself.
Tighten the bolts to 10 ft·lb (13.6 N·m) using a 5/16" Allen wrench and a torque
wrench with a 9/16" socket.
Extension Tube Hardware (BAF-Supplied):
a. (2) 3/8-16 x 3-1/2" Socket Head Cap Screw
b. (4) 3/8" Flat Washer
c. (2) 3/8" Nylock Nut

2a. Secure safety cable (to angle irons)

WARNING: The safety cable is a crucial part of the fan and
must be installed correctly. If you have any questions, call
Customer Service at 1-877-BIG-FANS.
Secure the safety cable to the mounting structure by wrapping it
around the structure and securing the loose ends with the Gripple
as shown. The cable must be drawn tightly around the structure,
leaving as little slack as possible with the Gripple tucked inside the
extension tube. Note: Exact mounting installation may differ from
the illustration.

2b. Secure safety cable (to safety clips)

WARNING: The safety cable is a crucial part of the fan and must be installed
correctly. If you have any questions, call Customer Service at 1-877-BIG-FANS.
Safety clips are used only when the top of the mounting structure is inaccessible due to a
ceiling.
Attach the safety clips to the mounting structure as shown. Secure the safety cable
through the (2) safety cable attachment clips, leaving as little slack as possible. Secure the
loose ends with the Gripple as shown. Note: Exact installation may differ depending on the
mounting method.
Safety Cable Hardware (BAF-Supplied):
a. (2) 5/16"-18 x 2-1/4" Bolt
b. (2) 5/16"-18 Nylock Nut
c. (4) 5/16" Flat Washer
