REAR SHOCK ABSORBER AND SWINGARM

HANDLING NOTES
A
WARNING
This shock absorber contains highly com-
pressed nitrogen gas. Read and understand
the following information before handling
the shock absorber. The manufacturer can-
not be held responsible for property dam-
age of personal injury that may result from
improper handling.
1.00 not tamper or attempt to open the
cylinder assembly.
2.00 not subject shock absorber to an open
flame or other high heat. This may cause
the unit to explode due to excessive gas
pressure.
3.00 not deform or damage the cylinder in
any way. Cylinder damage will result in
poor damping performance.
NOTES ON DISPOSAL

Shock absorber disposal steps:
• Gas pressure must be released before dis-
posing of the shock absorber. To do so,
drill a 2 ... 3 mm hole through the cylinder
wall as shown.

Wear eye protection to prevent eye dam-
age from escaping gas and/or metal chips.

1.1nspect:
• Rear shock absorber rod
Bends/damage

Oil leaks/gas leaks

Wear/damage

Replace the rear shock
absorber assembly.
• Bushings
• Collars
Damage/scratches
~
Replace.
• Dust seals
Wear/damage
~
Replace.
• Bolts
Wear/bends/damage
~
Replace.
