72 Lights and visibility
Turn signal and main beam lever

First read and observe the introductory information and safety warn-
ings on page 71.
Move the lever to the desired position:
Operate the right turn signal. With the ignition off, right parking light

2 Operate the left turn signal. With the ignition off, left parking light

Main beam on ⇒

4 Operate the headlight flasher. The headlight flasher remains on as long as
the lever is pulled. The indicator light  is lit.
Move the lever to its basic position to turn off the function.
Convenience flashing
For convenience flashing, only move the lever up or down to the pressure point
and release the lever. The turn signal flashes three times. This feature can be dis-
abled by a specialist garage.
WARNING
Incorrect use of the main beam can cause accidents and serious injuries since
the main beam may distract and dazzle other road users.

The turn signal lights work only with the ignition switched on. The warning signal

Note
If a turn signal light fails on the vehicle, the indicator light flashes twice the nor-
mal rate.
Note
The main beam can be turned on only when the low beam is switched on.
