3. The turn signal light, turn signal indicator
light or both fail to blink.
1. Turn signal indicator light bulb and socket
9Check the turn signal light bulb and socket
for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS".
9Are the turn signal light bulb and socket OK?
YES
2. Turn signal switch
9Check the turn signal switch for continuity.
Refer to "CHECKING THE SWITCHES".
9Is the turn signal switch OK?
YES

Replace the turn sig-
nal light bulb, socket
or both.
NO
Replace the left han-
dlebar switch.
SIGNALING SYSTEM
3. Voltage
9Connect the pocket tester (DC 20 V) to the
turn signal relay coupler as shown.
Positive tester probe → → brown 1 1
Negative tester probe → → ground
9Set the main switch to "ON".
9Measure the voltage (DC 12 V) on brown
lead terminal 1 at the turn signal relay cou-
pler.
9Is the voltage within specification?
YES
