【Camera Settings】
Exposure Settings (AE): This setting is used to adapt to the amount or type of light used by the
camera.
Mode:
ALC (Shutter Priority): Selecting ALC (Automatic Light Control) allows the camera circuitry to
either take bright spots more into consideration (peak), bringing out detail in bright areas, or
less into consideration (average) bringing out detail in shadows.
AES (Iris Priority): Selecting AES (Auto Electronic Shutter) disables the Shutter setting below
this setting. In this mode, the camera measures the light level and decides whether it needs
more or less light and then automatically adjusts the shutter speed accordingly. You can
further adjust the Iris (P-Iris) value.
Auto: Selecting Auto for the camera to automatically adjust the Iris and Shutter based on the
measured light level.
Iris (P-Iris): The Iris position value can only be adjusted if you select AES in the Mode field. You can
manually adjust the P-Iris position based on the current light level. Once the light level changes,
the P-Iris will automatically adjust to the best position. The lower the position value, the wider the
iris. This function is useful for cameras installed in the surveillance environment where light level
can vary frequently.
Iris (P-Iris) Position: The instant iris position will be displayed automatically according to the
detected light level. The lower the position value, the wider the iris, which allows the camera to
receive larger amount of light.
P-Iris lens can precisely control the best iris position in varying lighting conditions, expanding the
focus area of the images and meanwhile improve the image sharpness. The images below
demonstrate the cameras with/without P-Iris lens.
Without P-Iris Lens
The unfocused area is blur
With P-Iris Lens
Objects at different distances from the
camera are focused
