B. Pick-up/Feed System
The envelope feeder pick-up motor (M4) is
a stepping motor that rotates forward or
backward and is controlled by the envelope
f e e d e r
driver PCB. When the motor rotates
forward, all of the envelope rollers rotate.
while only the upper separation roller and
the feed roller rotate when the motor
rotates backward.

receives a 1st Start command from the DC
controller, it runs the pick-up motor
forward for about 1.8 second, pauses for 0.1
seconds, then runs the motor backward for
about 2.3 seconds. One envelope is picked
up and fed into the printer by the oblique
rollers so that its end touches the left side
plate to correct skew. The envelope stops
when it reaches the resist paper sensor
(PS602).
