D. Control Panel

Outline
This control panel contains 10 LEDs,
one VFD (vacuum tluorescent display),
7 switches, and one beeper on the
control panel. The control panel is
connected to the video controller PCB,
and has the following functions.
a. Displays status and error messages on
the VFD.

2. O p e r a t i o n
The LEDs, VFD, and beeper on the control
panel are controlled by signals from the
video controller. All signals generated by
control panel switches are input to the
video controller. Table 2-4 lists the input
and output signals.

b. Displays the printer operating states
with LEDs.
c.
Selects the printing environment,
operating mode, utility, and paper
source with switches.
d.
Sounds the beeper if a switch input is
ineffective or an error occurs.
