The cartridge has a toner sensor that
detects whether there is enough toner or
whether a cartridge is installed. If the level
of toner in the cartridge becomes lower
than the prescribed level. or if there is no
cartridge in the printer, the high-vollage
power supply PCB notifies the DC
controller via the serial line.
