Transmission Removal

Support the front counterweight with a 4X4 or a suit-
able jack stand. See Figure 4.1.

Remove the two nuts, bolts, and washers that hold
the front counterweight to the gear case assembly
using a pair of 3/4" wrenches. See Figure 4.2.
Carefully remove the counterweight from the chain-
case.
Remove the belt by following the procedures
described in Chapter 2: Belts.
