Thre e-point seat belts
The v ehicle is equipped with three-point
safety belts with automatic reel-in and
locking that allow full freedom of
movement, even though the belts are
alway s ly ing against the body (spring
loaded). For seat position see page 67.
The b elt has a " vehicle sensitive retractor"
which is designed to lock during heav y
acceleration or deceleration in a ny
direc tion.

Belt te nsioners
The front seat belt and outer rear seat
sy stems a re eq uipp ed with belt tensioners.
If a hea d-on or tail-end collision of a
certain severity occurs, the belt buckles are
pulled downw ard and the shoulder and lap
belts are tightened in an instant.
Act uation of belt tensioners
is indicated by the control ind icator v – see
nex t page.
The b elt tensioners must be repla ced a fter
activa tion. We rec om mend that you
consult a Vaux ha ll Approved Repairer.
The seat belts remain fully opera tional
even w hen the belt tensioners ha ve been
actuated.
