The v ehicle identification numb er is
stamped on the identification plate (see
previous pag e) and in the vehicle floor on
the right-hand side under a cover between
the front door and sea t.
In other d esign variants, the identification
plate may also be a ffixed to the
dashboard.
Engine cod e and engine number: stamped
on left-hand side of engine on crankca se.

we recomm end that you consult a Vauxhall
Authorised Repairer, who can advise you
on the correct p roducts to use.
Caution: Use of unsuita ble fluids can ca use
serious dam age to the vehic le.

The oil change interv als for engine oils a re
flexible (EC OS ervice-Flex).
The nex t engine oil chang e will b e
display ed on the vehic le instruments a nd
will dep end on how you driv e the vehicle.
Driv ing patterns take into account e. g .
frequent cold starts, short trips, av erage
driving conditions or predominantly long
distance driving.
Y our Vec tra is delivered from the factory
with eng ine oil of quality GM-LL-A-025
(SAE 5W-30) 3 or GM-LL-B-025
(SAE 5W-40) 3.
With this engine oil, under avera ge
operating cond itions, the next engine oil
change will be due after a m aximum of
2 years or around 20, 000 miles (30,000 km)
for a petrol engine a nd after a ma ximum of
2 years or 30,000 m iles (50,000 k m) for a
diesel engine. The service interval display
takes account of off-the-road periods
during which the battery is disconnected –
see page 262.
The engine oil that has been specially
developed for vehicles with EC OS ervice-
Flex can be obtained from a Vaux hall
Authorised Repairer or on the open mark et
(e.g. filling stations). A list of oil companies
can b e found on the Internet at
www .Va ux ha ll. co.uk
When topping up, alwa ys use engine oil of
quality GM -LL-A-025 or GM-LL-B-025 (see
table on the following page), to benefit
from the flexible maintenance intervals.
