Auxiliary heating will only switch on if
coolant temp erature is less than approx.
80 °C.
In order to improve heating power and
ensure that the engine op erating
tem perature is reached quickly, the
auxiliary heater also automatically
switches itself on when driving if the
outside tem perature is less than app rox .
8 °C . This occ urs irrespec tiv e of stored
auxiliary heater switch-on times. The
auxiliary heating switches itself off
automatically w hen the engine is switched
off and the com bustion air fan continues
running for app rox . 2 minutes (hum ming
noise).
Maintenance
In order to ensure continuously efficient
performance of the electronic air
conditioning system it must b e sw itc hed on
once a m onth for a few minutes,
irresp ective of the weather a nd time of
yea r, with the cooling (cooling compressor)
op erational. The aux iliary hea ting 3
should be run for a few m inutes every
6 months at a pre-selected temperature
greater tha n 22 °C .
If a fault occurs in the electronic air
conditioning system or the auxiliary
heating/v entilation system 3, consult a
work shop. We recom mend a Va ux ha ll
Authorised Repairer. The system's
integrated self-diag nostics a llows faults to
be q uick ly remedied.
The pollen filter with activated charcoal
layer must be renewed in a ccord ance with
the maintenance intervals spec ified in the
Serv ic e Booklet.
Air intake
The air intakes in front of the windscreen on
the fa r right and left sides of the engine
compa rtm ent must be kep t clear to allow
air inta ke. Remove any leav es, dirt or snow.
Air outlet
Do not cover the air outlets when storing
items in the luggag e compartment storag e
compa rtm ents.
