Control indicators
The control indica tors described here are
not p resent in all vehicles. The description
applies to all instrum ent versions.
Some control indicators are shown as
pictograms within the tachometer dial
area.
O
Turn sig nal lam ps
Control indica tor flashes when turn signal
lamps are on. Rapid flashes: A turn signa l
lamp bulb or its associated fuse has fa iled.
Changing bulbs – see page 248, changing
fuses – see page 242.
I
O il pressure
C ontrol indicator lights up when ignition is
switched on. Goes out shortly after engine
starts. Can light up interm ittently when
idling with hot eng ine; must go out when
eng ine speed is increased .
If it lights up when the eng ine is running:
Eng ine lubrication m ay be interrup ted. This
ma y result in damage to the engine and/or
locking of the drive wheels:
1. Depress clutch.
2. Shift transmission to idling, with
autom atic transmission 3 or C VTronic 3
move selector lever to N.
3. Steer as quickly as possible out of the
stream of traffic, without imped ing other
vehicles.
4. Switching the ignition off (Position I).
When the ignition is off, c onsiderab ly
more force is needed to brake and steer.
Do not remove key until vehicle has
come to a stand still, otherwise the
steering column lock c ould engage
unexpectedly .
C heck oil level before consulting a
workshop. We recommend a Vauxhall
Authorised Repa irer.
