Control indicator illum inates when ignition
is switched on, if handbrake a pplied and/or
if brake and clutch sy stem fluid lev el is too
low. For further information see
pages 217, 268.
If it lights up when the hand brake is not
applied: stop the vehicle; interrupt your
journey immediately . Consult a
work shop. We recom mend a Vaux ha ll
Authorised Repairer.

Alternator
Control indica tor lights up when ignition is
switched on. Goes out shortly after eng ine
starts.
If it lights up when the engine is running:
Stop, switch engine off. Battery is not
cha rg ed. Engine cooling m ay not be
op erating. With a diesel eng ine the b rake
servo unit may stop operating . Consult a
work shop. We recommend that y ou consult
a Vaux hall Authorised Repairer.

C ool ant temp era ture
If it lights up when the eng ine is running:
S top vehicle and switch off engine. C oolant
temperature is too high: switch off engine.
Danger to engine. Coolant fluid tem pera-
ture d isplay – see page 38. Check the cool-
ant level immed iately – see page 266.

Seat belt
The control indicator illuminates with
ignition switched on until seat belt is p ut
on. An a coustic signal is a lso emitted when
the car sta rts to mov e. Putting seat belt on.
