Finalize

Finalize the disc so that it can be played
on other DVD players.
Note: Recording or Editing is not possible
after finalizing. This may take up to 4 min.
Press the REC button to start finalize.
Press the OPEN/CLOSE button to exit.
This disc cannot be played on other
DVD players without finalizing.
Recording

Specifying a time as the recording duration

This function is not possible for Timer or Flexible Recordings.
Press REC on the unit during recording.
Each time the button is pressed, the recording time changes on the unit display:
OFF 0:30
Press STOP . The recording is paused and the time setting is deleted.
If the channel or recording mode (XP, SP, LP, EP) is changed during a recording
pause, the time is deleted.

Recording programmes in dual channel sound

RAM/HDD: Both channels of a programme in dual channel sound are recorded. If
you change between the two channels during the recording by pressing AUDIO,
this does not affect the recording. You can only change with AUDIO in the setting
[Rec for High Speed Copy - Off].
Other media: Select the soundtrack to be recorded in the Setup menu before the
recording.
Use [M1] for the original language or [M2] for another available language.
Recording Multi Audio programmes
Press DISPLAY to select the language or soundtrack to be recorded under
[Sound - DVB Multi Audio], before the recording.
Finalize
A non-finalized disc can only be played back on this DVD Recorder.
Press OPEN/CLOSE
automatically offer you finalization of unfinalized discs.
Press REC to start finalization.
After completing finalization, the disc is ejected automatically. It can now be played
on any other DVD unit.
If you do not want to finalize the disc, press OPEN/CLOSE

Manual recording from Camcorder or Camera

Connect the unit to DV IN.
Select the Audio mode [Stereo 1, Stereo 2 or Mix] in the Setup menu.
Start playback on your external DV unit.
Press pause at the required starting point.
Select the DV channel with INPUT SELECT.

Press REC on the DVD Recorder.
Resume playback on the external DV unit.
Press STOP to end recording on the DVD Recorder.
Stop playback on the DV unit.
The recording cannot be paused with PAUSE
Programmes are recorded as a title.

A chapter is generated at every picture interruption and a playlist is
created.
The unit is connected to an AV input
Select the drive DVD or HDD with DRIVE SELECT.
Select the recording mode with REC MODE.
Select the AV input channel with INPUT SELECT in the STOP mode.
Start playback on the external unit.
Press REC at the point where you want to start recording.
Press STOP to stop the recording.
