Connection of external units

Before connection, turn off all equipment and read the appropriate operating
instructions.
Digital amplifier or digital system components
If an amplifier with a Dolby Digital, DTS or MPEG decoder is connected, multi-
channel surround sound from a DVD-VIDEO can be played back.
Connect an amplifier with a Dolby Digital, DTS or MPEG decoder.
Use an optical digital audio cable.
In the Setup menu Sound, change the Digital Audio Output setting according to
your connected digital amplifier.
You cannot use a DTS Digital Surround decoder that is not designed for DVD.
Joint use of HDMI and digital output OPTICAL
If the DVD Recorder is connected to the television set with an HDMI cable and you
are using an amplifier at the digital audio output OPTICAL for sound output, in the
Setup menu change the setting Digital Audio Output to [Optical Only].
DTS decoder in order to be able to
play a DVD with this symbol.
Analogue amplifier or analogue system components
To use stereo or Dolby Pro Logic, connect an analogue amplifier or analogue audio
component.
Connect the output AUDIO OUT (R/L) e.g. with a Dolby Pro Logic amplifier.
Connect the audio cable according to the colour of the connection terminals
(R - Red, L - White).

DVD Player, Set Top Box or Videorecorder to AV2(EXT)
Connect another unit to the Scart socket AV2(EXT) of the DVD Recorder. Please

read the operating instructions for your external unit.
AV2(EXT)
Connect the Scart socket AV2(EXT) of the DVD Recorder with the Scart socket of
the external unit.
In the Setup menu, select the settings for the connected unit.
Press INPUT SELECT several times to select the input AV2 for the external unit.
Second satellite receiver
With the DVD Recorder switched off, you can forward the signal via the LNB OUT
terminal. Please read the operating instructions for your satellite receiver.
Connect LNB IN of the satellite receiver with LNB OUT of the DVD Recorder.
Switch the Quick Start off.
Switch the DVD Recorder to Standby.
