7. If you have installed a processor that runs at a different speed that the
previous processor, you must change the processor speed in BIOS. Continue
with step 4 in "Changing Processor Speed" in Section 4. If the new
processor runs at the same speed, continue with the step below.
8. Replace the system unit cover (see "Replacing the Cover").

Installing the Pentium II in a Universal Retention Mechanism

Install a Pentium II processor in a universal retention mechanism as follows.
Note: NEC CSD recommends that you print out or write
down your current BIOS Setup parameters and store the
information in a safe place before installing a processor.
1. If you are replacing the processor cartridge currently in your system, remove
the cartridge (see "Removing the Pentium II Processor Cartridge").
Before picking up the processor cartridge, reduce static
discharge by touching the metal chassis of the system unit.
2. Align the cartridge with the guides in the retention mechanism (see the
following figure). The heat sink faces the rear of the chassis.
