CE Video Drivers

When the Video Redirector and Display Driver are loaded, they disable the CE video adapter.
You cannot disable the Endurance video drivers or substitute other drivers.
CE and IOP Video Modes
In the IOPs, you should use video cards that support resolutions of at least 1024 X 768 and also
support more than 256 colors. The CE color palette is always set to 256 colors. You should run
the IOPs at least one setting above 256 colors. Otherwise, the CE Desktop application will not
display colors properly.
It is not necessary to have the display resolution of the CE Desktop area and that of the IOP
desktop area match each other.
Not only can the video displays of the CE desktop and IOP desktop be different from each other,
but you can run the two IOP video displays in different modes.
Booting in Base Video Mode
If an Endurance server experiences system problems, it is possible to boot the CE in base video
mode, which uses standard Windows VGA video drivers. You can use the
in the boot.ini command to do so. This enables you to bring up the CE in order to determine and
diagnose system problems. However, it is not possible to synchronize a second CE in this mode.
The use of the standard video driver in base video mode prevents Endurance CEs from
synchronizing.
Note:
It is likely that you will never need to boot the CE in base video mode, and in fact,
you should not do so unless your service provider explicitly recommends this as
a way of diagnosing and correcting a possible problem.
To view the video when booting in base video mode, you must have a monitor
attached to the CE.
