G350 Media Gateway
The Avaya G350 Media Gateway is a standalone converged networking device that provides
the following voice and data networking services:
Voice over IP Media Gateway based on H.248 protocol
WAN (data) connectivity and routing
Power-over-Ethernet LAN switching
Telephone exchange for legacy telephones and trunks
Survivability features for continuous voice services
A built-in protocol analyzer capable of exporting files in libpcap format for analysis by
Ethereal and tcpdump,
MD5 authentication for OSPF,
Support for GRE tunnels,
Policy-based routing support,
Support for SNMPv3,
Support for SSH and SCP for secure administration and upgrading,
A new fair-voice-queue for enhanced QoS support for IP Telephony application,
Support for DSL modems as either primary or backup links.
In addition, the G350 now supports enhanced management features including USB modem
support and LSP alarming. The USB modem interface is intended for administration only. As
such, it is not routable, and cannot be used as a backup link in the event of a network failure.
Furthermore, the G350 will send SNMP traps to its active call server. Should the G350 fail over
to an LSP, the G350 will send alarms directly to the new call server with no need for manual
configuration.
