Voice Switched mode allows the image of the person currently speaking to be
broadcast to all other conference participants. Their image remains as the broad-
cast source until another participant speaks. Voice Switched mode can be estab-
lished by pressing the Voice Switch button in the MCU Services section of the MCU
control screen.
Chairman mode enables one participant to control the meeting by selecting which
conference participant is to be broadcast to all other participants. The Chairman
can also let the conference run in Voice Switched mode.

Control Issues

Requesting the Floor

Pressing the Request Floor button, located in the MCU Services section, will try to
force the MCU to broadcast your video to all other conference participants. If the
MCU conference has a Chairman, this button will send your floor request to the
Chairman. Your site will continue to be broadcast to all other participants until
you select the Release Floor button, located in the MCU Services section, or the
Chairman decides to give the floor to another participant.

Releasing the floor

Press the Release Floor button, located in the MCU Services section, to release your
image from being transmitted to all conference participants.

Becoming the conference Chairman

Press the Take Chair button to request becoming the Chairman of the conference. If
no one else is currently Chairman, the MCU automatically gives the chair to you.

Choosing the site to be broadcast

While in the Chairman mode, press the Floor to Site # button followed by a Site #
button to select which of the conference participants is to be broadcast to the other
participants.
