Multipoint Conferences

Overview
Like telephone conference calls, videoconferencing is not limited to just two loca-
tions. Using a multipoint control unit (MCU), you can have three or more sites
connected in a fully interactive videoconference (Figure 56). The MCU allows one
site to act as chairperson of the conference with the power to control which site's
video is shown to all participants.
To initiate a multipoint conference, you and the other participants must call an
MCU or have the MCU call you. Once connected the system recognizes the call as a
multipoint conference and allows the user access to special multipoint control fea-
tures.
To access the multipoint control functions, touch the MCU button located at the top
of the control page. An MCU conference can operate in different modes: Voice
Switched, Chairman or Continuous Presence.
