The grates
may be cleaned
in a

Burner Grates
Your range has three professional-stgledouble
grates.Thesegrates are position-specific.For
maximum stabilitg,these grates shouldonlg be
usedin their proper position;themcannot be
interchangedleft to right or front to back. For
convenience, t he undersidesof the left and right
grates are marked "LEFT FRONT" and "RIGHT
FRONT." Makesurethe front portion of both
grates is in front. Themiddlegrote has a bow
in front. Makesure the bowedportion istoward
the front of the range.
Cleaning
Lift out when cool.Gratesshould be washed
regulurlgand, of course,after spillovers.Wash
them in hot, soapg water and rinsewith clean
water.When replacingthe grates,be surethem
ore positionedsecurelgover the burners.
Replace the grates so that continuousarcs are
formed with the center ribs of all three grates.
Donot operate a burner for an extended period
oftime without cookwareon the grate.The
finish on the grate mag chip without cookware
to absorbthe heat.
Toget rid of burned-on food, placethe grates in
o covered container.Add 1/4 cup ammonia and
letthem soak severalhours or overnight.Wash,
rinsewell and drg.
Althoughthemare durable,the grates will
graduallg losetheir shine,regardlessof the best
caregou can givethem. Thisis due to their
continual exposureto hightemperatures.
Youwill notice this sooner with lighter color
grates.
NOTE: D o not clean the grates in a self-cleaning
oven,
Cooktop Surface
To avoid damagingthe porcelainenamel
surface of the cooktop and to prevent it from
becoming dull,cleanup spills right awag. Foods
with a lot of acid (tomatoes,sauerkraut,fruit
juices, etc.)or foods with high sugar content
could cause a dull spot if allowedto set.
When the surfacehas cooled,wash and rinse.
Forother spillssuch asfat spatterings,etc.,
wash with soap and water once the surface
has cooled.Then rinseand polishwith a drg
cloth.
NOTE:Do not store flammable materials
in on oven, drawer or near the cool<top.
Do not store or use combustible materials,
gasoline or other flammable vapors and
liquids in the vicinity of this or any other
appliance.

To clean the stainless steel surface,
use warm sudsg water or a stainless steel
cleaner or polish. Alwags wipe the surface in
the direction of the grain. Follow the cleaner
instructions for cleaning the stainless steel
surface.
