Migrating a management server

You can upgrade to the latest release of the product. To install a new version of
the software, you must perform certain tasks to ensure a successful upgrade.
The information in this section is specific to upgrading software in environments
where a version of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x or 12.0 is already installed.
Process for upgrading to the latest Small Business Edition release

Description
Back up the database used by the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager to
ensure the integrity of your client information.

The Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager service must be stopped during
the installation.

Install the new version of the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager in your
network. The existing version is detected automatically, and all settings are
saved during the upgrade.

Upgrade your client software to the latest version.

The easiest way to update clients in groups with the latest software is to use
AutoUpgrade. You should first update a group with a small number of test
computers before you update your entire production network.
