5 Setting up Administration and Branch Servers
Reboot both servers and check the replication of the /drbd directory from
the primary node to the secondary as described previously. Check the correct
operation of the services and the HA setup. Make sure that DNS names, like
tftp, are resolved to the virtual IP address of your HA cluster.

5.3.9 Updating the SLRS 8 Software on HA Servers

To update a high availability branch server pair to a new support pack release
of SLRS 8, do the following:
Stop Heartbeat on the secondary branch server (for example, BS2) by
entering rcheartbeat stop.
Upgrade the primary branch server (for example, BS1) to the latest SLES
8 support pack release, following the steps in Section
Reboot the primary branch server (BS1).
Upgrade the primary branch server (BS1) to the latest SLRS 8 sup-
port pack release by inserting the SLRS 8 support pack CD and running
/media/cdrom/posUpgrade.sh.
Restart Heartbeat on BS2 with the command "rcheartbeat start".
Stop Heartbeat on BS1 and wait for the secondary server (BS2) to be-
come the primary.
Repeat the steps above to upgrade SLES 8, reboot the server, and up-
grade the SLRS 8 software on BS2 (the secondary branch server now
acting as the primary).
Enter "rcheartbeat start" on BS1 to switch it back to the primary
branch server.
Note: The script for upgrading SLRS 8 is hard-coded to use /media/cdrom. If
your CD-ROM drive uses a different name to mount (such as /media/cdrecorder),
enter the following commands to create a link to the CD:
cd /media
ln -s cdrecorder cdrom
After updating the branch servers, turn off automatic start of the dhcp, named,
and atftpd services during boot by entering the following commands on both
branch servers:
chkconfig dhcpd off
chkconfig named off
chkconfig atftpd off
Enable automatic start of Heartbeat with chkconfig heartbeat on.
